Japan won their first match of Asian Cup 2004 in Chongqing, China. The game was controled by Oman and Japan won the slim victory by Nakamura's technique. Japan players: Kawaguchi; M Tanaka, Miyamoto, Nakazawa; Alex, Endo, Fukunishi, Kaji, Nakamura; Suzuki (Nishi), and Tamada (Motoyama)

1-0 for Oman (in Feb) and 2-1 for Singapore (in Jun) of WC qualifiers. 1-0 for Czech (in Apr) and 1-1 for England (in Jun).
