Nakamura's late 'special' clinches title for Celtic

Japanese unique football paper "El Grazo" celebrates Nakamura
Kilmarnock 1 - 2 Celtic
Monday, April 23, 2007
By Nick Harris
At last. At long, long last. After a case of the collywobbles that were starting to look like a choke, Celtic finally claimed the second consecutive title of Gordon Strachan's reign yesterday, and in appropriately dramatic fashion.
Three minutes of added time were already on the clock after 90 in which Celtic had failed truly to sparkle, and had had a 1-0 lead through Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink pegged back to 1-1 by Colin Nish for the feisty home side.
Another week at least of agony beckoned, and perhaps the squeakiest bum time of Strachan's two years at Parkhead, as Rangers tried to close on their Old Firm rivals.
However, Celtic then won a free-kick. It was earned for a push on the edge of the box on Shunsuke Nakamura, the Japanese playmaker, dazzling at times this season. The stage was set, not just for the "Naka special" that followed - curled, left-footed, with pace, into the bottom left corner - but for a title party, born as much of relief as anything, that continued long into the night across Glasgow's East End.

Nakamura has a great talent, but the talent can be an average one if
he would be requested to play as a regular player. He should not leave
from Gordon Strachan's team.
