J.League, audience of 100,000,000

Shizuoka Stadium. 21 March
J.League announced 100 million audiences have visited J.League match on 21 march 2009. Since the opening with 1992 league cup, 70 millions came to top league match, 18 attended J2, and 9 went to the league cup match. (Detail statistics are available at J.League official (pdf. Japanese Only).)

On this weekend, every clubs finished their home matches. J1 average attendance for each home is 21,703 and J2 is 8,516 which were 24,823 and 8,690 in 2008 opening respectively. The number of attendance depends on the weather and the visitting clubs, but it came down a little.

League has another statistical survey results that 54.6% of attendance went more than 15 matches a year and 33.9% attend their every home match. League is supported by the limited supporters. I don't think the circle is expanding after 2002 World Cup host.

"Japan has everythig. Wonderful stadiums, organized and interesting league. The league starts again this year. I want you to enjoy the league which fancies me from your heart and body. For football. For every sports."
This message is from Ivica Osim written on the coca-cola sponcered free paper distributed at the opening stadiums. Unfortunatelly, this message is distributed only to the limited supportes.
